











Cittā della Pieve is a unique town in the province of Perugia on a hill dominating the underlying areas of Lake Trasimeno and Valdichiana; this Umbrian town is characterized by a distinctly renaissance, as evidenced by the oldest buildings.
The story of Cittā della Pieve begins in the Etruscan period, when the area is under the control of the powerful Chiusi, then, accepting many Christians on its territory, it became an important center and was called Castello della Pieve, in the centuries following the domination of the city belonged to Perugia but, after a few clashes between factions Ghibelline and Guelphs, the village was declared a free municipality.
